Question 7 Final
I feel that I have learned a vast amount of knowledge and skills from when i first started my preliminary to the end of the product. The main skills I have learned are just using basic and advanced tolls in photoshop more effectively and to my advantage. One of the main tools i have used is the magneto lasso tool as this was used to get the pictures from the camera onto our final magazines. When I first did this I did it quickly and made a lot of mistakes such as cropping pieces of clothing out so it did not look correct. When I took the pictures for my preliminary magazine I used the whiteboard in a class room and when I took the pictures I had cut out parts of his body from he shot. I learned from my mistakes and decided to book a AVS room so that I could use the correct equipment such as a background and lighting so my photos look more professional and to a higher standard. By using a custom background a lighting I could adjust the photos to how I wanted them and decided not to have any shadow.
The layout for my preliminary was very unorganised and scattered. The font was also the basic font and it looked to bland and boring where as in my final magazine I decided to add a new font and made the layout and organisation much better so it was easier to read compared to my preliminary. For my preliminary I did barely any research for the design so it did not look very professional where as with my final magazine I did a lot of research into many different areas to try and get the right look for my magazine. With the preliminary work I did not add the little features such as page numbers and a bar code, I took this into consideration when creating my final magazine and I created and styled my own page numbers and bar code into my magazine to make it look more original and unique.
The colour scheme for my prelim was not planned very well and some of the colours clashed and looking back I thought that they were too loud and bright, I took this into consideration through out my magazine and decided to keep it to a simple yet effective colour scheme of just black and white. I felt that keeping it to a simple colour schemed looked much better and I learned new skills such as changing the opacity and brightness of the colour so it made my magazine look much better compared to my preliminary. I only used very basic text that was available for me already on Photoshop. With my magazine I researched fonts from other magazines and used a font that I felt matched the genre and style of my magazine very well.

Question 5 Final
My magazine is aimed at people between the age of 16-25 and it is aimed at a male and a female audience. The way i have styled my magazine will attract my audience compared to other magazines that you would see in a shop. To be gin with i have used a very plain and simplistic style to my cover which has a very symmetrical layout and looks very professional. If you saw this in a shop as it would catch your eye as it looks quite different compared to other mainstream and popular magazine. It has stuck to a very basic and simple colour scheme but still looks attract and eye-catching to an audience. It gives the audience a very clear idea of what type of music will be inside of the magazine as the only writing on the cover is apart from the masthead are bands which are featured inside the magazine. The font is a quite a large size which will also help attract an audience for my magazine. I feel that my picture is original or 'indie' which would attract my type of target audience. The style of my model would also attract my audience as the clothing fits my genre.

For my contents page i also kept it a simple style but i feel that looks really professional and gives you all the details which are inside the magazine and the features which are all related and aimed to my type of audience in my audience profile. I have used three pictures at the bottom of my contents page which all are wearing clothing that fits my genre and audience which would attract more people. My layout is once again symertical and layer out in an organised and professional way so it is very easy for my audience to read and to know what is going to be featured inside my magazine.
For my double page spread I kept it a simple style again and minimalistic colours. I have spread it out well so that it is easy to read and not cramped together and i have used a stand out font which also makes it easy to read. I have ensured that the layout is professional and that i have made no grammar errors as this would make your magazine look unprofessional and this could cause your audience to stop reading as they will not take the magazine seriously. I have made the questions in the interview bold so the audience can clearly see which are the questions and which are the answers.
For my double page spread I kept it simple and minimalistic so it is easy to read. I made it easy to see who was talking in the article and I spread the columns away from each other so it is not clustered. I kept with the same font throughout my magazine as I feel that it fits well all together. I used simplistic pictures as other music magazines using my genre have done the same with there models such as Loud and Quiet. I have not used any loud colours and tried to keep it as minimalistic as other magazines I have used ideas from have kept there colour scheme that way.

Question 4 Final
The target audience that will be viewing and purchasing my magazine will be interested in the genre of indie/alternative rock and would listen to rock based music and electronic pop. The thing that my magazine would produce is the latest news and gossip about the most popular artists and other things, it would include things like interviews and opinions of the artists. It would also include information about upcoming events and gigs which the artists may be appearing at. The age group that would be interested in my magazine is in between 16 - 26. My magazine costs £2.99, this is quite a high fee for a weekly magazine but I feel that it provides something different and original compared to other mainstream magazines. The magazine provides information about artists such as The XX, Arcade Fire and Vampire Weekends, these are bands that are very popular and influential in the indie/alternative rock scene.
Question 3 Final
I feel that Conde Nast would be the best media distributor as it already is distributing magazines such as Wired and Vogue. Conde Nast is known to be a lifestyle distributer and is know for promoting things with style and class instead of just an all around magian s i think it would fit well with my mag as i like to think my magazine has an extra bit of class and style to it and would fit well together. If Conde Nast distributed 'Zine' then tat would be the first music magazine they have done and i think it would greatly benefit them as it would open them up to a new area of distribution. As it is a large company i fell it would create a large audience quite fast which would be good for my magazine. I think that the magazine should be sold in stores but mainly focus on things like the internet and application on iPods and android phones because this would benefit my target audience of 16-25 year olds. Also it they would fit together because my magazine is heavily influential in style and trend setting so it would fit well with there other magazines like Vogue. Because my magazine uses well known artists it would attract a lot of customers for it and a bigger fan base it it would greatly increase my revenue by being distributed by such a popular company but it would also make a profit for Conde Nast swell and also greatly increase there popularity by introducing a music area into there company.
