Language register

The language register for my genre would be both formal and informal, the actual person writing the articles in the magazine wold need to write quite a lot of it in a formal way but with a lot of magazines there are going to be interviews artists in that genre and they are going to quote them on what they say so this may turn that part of the magazine article a bit more informal. The magazine could also use informal language for a style purpose or an idea which is based around the informal language.

From the magazine you can see that they have quoted something that Drake has said which is informal but buy doing this it adds style to the magazine and it is something that would match the personality of Drake and the genre of magazine it is in. The language you would use would change due to what genre of music the magazine is from such as a magazine that is made for grime and rap would use informal language and slang, were as a magazine for a genre like classical there would only be formal language.
